few ramblings....

Ever since i have stepped into my new office I haven’t got time to spend for myself.

Initially I felt I had a lot of time to pursue various hobbies such as Movies (I planned to join a Movie Club, but left the thght of it now), go on a trek (stopped checking GHAC meetup mails), planned to go for the famous Heritage walk from Charminar to Chowmohalla palace (hahaha..waking up at 7 AM on a Sunday …noway).

And by the time i realize that , iam already 1month old in my new role.

Expectations have started to rise, Targets have been announced, I am xpected to join the Marquee from this month end.

Day by day I am getting used to new business processes, acquinted to new frenz, and most importantly new Timings.

By the time I reach home it would be time to sleep giving me no chance to think about how to spend my time…..

Its time to pull up my socks , roll my sleeves and get it going….I have got some new movies and finding it difficult to watch them…

My Movie Josh…

With not much hue and cry around the movie except for the launch of another starkid Nagachaitanya, I was expecting another family entertainer from the stable of Dil Raju.

We booked the tickets for the first day first show, but unfortunately due to the sudden turnaround of events post YSR’s sad demise had to postpone our plan. Even though the movie was released on Friday we could manage to watch it on Monday only.

Firstly I Liked the Movie.

It has been quite a long time that a movie based out and out on college background has been made. I guess after Sye ,Josh is the only movie which belongs to that category.

We enjoyed the movie completely. Chaitanya was looking decently charming. But I suppose that’s the way debutant actors look like. For that matter when Bunny was launched in Gangotri or Charan in Chiruta they also had that innocence in their faces. Hopefully Chaitanya would also work on his body language for his next movie of Gowtham menon. With a lite beard and oiled hair in the opening scene he resembled Nagarajuna in Geetanjali. He showed good difference in his body language distinguishing the character from the flashback episode.

The best part about Karthika was she never over/under occupied the screen with the hero. Her raised eyebrows were eye catchy. Though she appeared a little tall , her role is bubbly.

Dil Raju has this very keen ability to identify the guyz who work for their dream – another such hunt result is Director vasu varma. To be a debutante director and at the same time launching a Starkid would have drained him out completely as he has to prove himself catering to the expectations of the fans. I think by choosing a college backdrop he was able to strike the chord with Students and masses. Though to make the family audiences comfortable he maintained the track of Prakash Raj as a good Samaritan principle.

As far as the story goes the director chose to keep the audience sceptical in the first half as to what would the flash back episode be. I thought the interval would be something similar to Student number 1. The first half was witty especially because of Sunil, who added the punch lines and comic mannerisms while the second half was more concentrated on diversifying the acting skills of chaitanya.

Music by sandeep chowta is good and I liked the bit songs. The satirical song of college bulloda has humorous lyrics. Although by Monday the song me me meka was removed from the movie .

All in all it’s a good movie with a Message. The Best part about the movie was its all about Youth and as always YOUTH ROCKZZZZ….JOSH

It truly is a Wonderful life!!!!

Just completed watching this 1946 classic English movie “It is a wonderful life” by Frank Capra. It immediately struck a chord with me. The movie was refreshingly invigorating. Mr. George bailey and his wife Mrs. Mary George bailey deserve a Special mention.

It's a Wonderful Life - was nominated for five Oscars without winning any, but the film has since been recognized by the American Film Institute as one of the 100 best American films ever made, and placed number one on their list of the most inspirational American films of all time.

So here I go to blog about it after a long hiatus from my blogging space.

Are you tired of your regular life? Do you think life is not giving you more ? Do you think your efforts are not being recognised? Or are your friends, family and relatives insinuating you? You think you had enough of hardships and you are in no mood to take these hardships any longer ? Do you wish you were not born at all in such a world? (I also feel the same….:-)…..)

Dhan te nan…..ta ra ra ….dhan te nan….

Just for a moment assume that you are not in this world. Imagine how this world around you would have been had you been not there?

Yes you heard it right.

Step out of your shoes and see how the world moves without you. Count on the things that you would miss. Imagine how lucky you are to step into all those lives of your family, loved ones and friends and change them the way their lives’ are today.

Had the character named Vamsi not been created in this world
• a mother would have cooked any vegetable of her choice (Our daily fight starts here)
• A sister would have no brother to collect her gift from her brother on the eve of rakhi (this year my sister tied a gold rakhi…24 carats gold..phewwww..i was left awestruck as I could not gift her reasonably)
• A friend would not have someone to listen her and attempt to make her dreams come true
• A Shali would have picked another buddy to hang around for new movies (It has been quite a longtime that we went to a movie though)
• A Sravan would not have a person who takes his words with highest regards (even though at times I pretend to argue with sravan just to see how it looks to be on the other side of the argument ,but I give it a thought before sleeping that night..bcoz he is always right )
• A Lucky would not have known how does a “Boy with no bad habits” be like
• A Hasham would have got some other buddy to prepare for his GMAT exam
• An Amit would have had his books intact with him.(I misplaced his books somewhere, have to replace them)
• A Ravinder@bangalore would have spent his STD mobile call duration with some special friend of his (Dude always tries to pump up my spirits)
• A Sushmi would have no friend to inform every time she moves in and out of Hyderabad to US
• A Raghu would have another friend who calls him for all festivals (Poor chap I never called him till date since the time he left to US. He always do’s the Honours for me)
• A tenant would have known how rude his landlord would be for not switching off the Motor after the water tank is filled
• A Balu would not have some one to help him with his Online movie tickets for first day first show ticket.
• A Raj would have had a courteous friend.
• A Nabee would have no one to pull his leg in midnight chats
• A Swathy would not have someone to ping her at midnight 1 AM IST (while it’s a busy peak day time for her in US)
• A venky would not have someone to file his IT returns in Hyderabad (he asked me only once though)
• An SBI credit card lady would have missed a contact number to dial every day as part of her daily ritual (She has been bugging me for the past 1 month daily)
• A Neighbor would not have known how patient his fellow neighbour would have been even though his car was bumped once which costed him heavily on his pockets
• A Sony ericsson mobile service fellow would have been happy to miss a disgruntled customer (My mobile display is switched off just after 3 months of replacement …)
• ….list unending.

It is because of people like the above that I feel I am worthy enough to fail and learn along with success in my life. Thanks every one.

Delhi6 - Ye Dilli mere Yaar

I was planning to blog about the movie Delhi6 after i watched it the first day first show (My frend managed 2 tickets for us). And it took so long for me to complete it.(Huh finally posting it!!!)

Eversince i came to know that Rakesh Omprakash Mehra (ROMP) is all set to unwind a new story, it created a curiosity.Firstly i thght the movie should have been named as Dilli6 rather than Delhi6.

Let me acknowledge here itself that if you are planning for a Commercial -out and out entertainer with mindless plot with huallabaloo then this movie may not be the one that you are looking for.Well ROMP was trying to weave a story around his master formula of interlinking the current situation with an easily recognisable event in the past.

While in Rang De Basanti he tried to strike a chord between Indian Freedom Struggle and GenX struggle agianst Corruption, the movie drew rave reviews bcoz most of the people were ready to identify themselves. So the same success ingredients have been tried again to make a Concoction ....AR Rehman + ROMP + Similar Screenplay.

In Delhi6 ROMP tried to strike the chord between the Current Society and Ramayan. While all of us agree that Ramayan is the story about Lord Ram winning over the Kaalabandar inside Ravan thereby making a clarion call to Kill the Kaalabandar (evil) which resides in most of us instead of blowing an Issue out of proportion.

In the movie also ROMP sends out the message that most of the times we start fighting amongst ourselves in the name of religion, caste, creed.,etc while it is the Kaalabandar in us that needs to be fought with.He is right in saying that everyone of us has a Kaala Bandar in us which wakes up at its wish and tries to influence us and take decisions on our behalf.

I personally liked the movie very much though not many of my frenz liked it.

Particularly the way Romp embedded the Ramayan Play with the story is water-tight.
The movie talks about Untouchability (Divya Dutt,AB and waheeda episode - Ram having fruits from Sabari), Indian values (Cow delivering amidst the road leading to traffic jam).

Also there is comedy which is evoked at the instant. Just imagine the scene where Lord Ram, Lakshman and Hanuman are in a serious discussion and suddenly the Local Hindu Party leader comes and the actor who plays Lord Ram felicitates the leader or the scene in which the 2 kids and ask for Jelebi.

What else can i say about Music when Music Mozaic and Dual Oscar Winner Rehman makes you dance to his tunes.

All in all i liked the movie as a whole and shall love to watch it again.

As my frend Kumar said in one of his Blogs that when a movie makes you think about it even after you reaching home it means the movie has made an Impact(not crying for the bucks lost).
The last time i had silmilar feeling was Swades (SRK-Ashotosh gowariker), i liked the movie while it was not a Commercial hit.

12 Angry men….1 vamsi

Well it has got nothing to do with a formal introdcution. Ever since Naveen Bavagaru brought his 500 GB hard disk completely dumped with Movies, mostly English ones, I was on the verge of completing all the movies that I have been planning to watch.

Over an informal colloquy Naveen asked me about the movies that I completed watching from the Jumbo collection, and he popped up about the movie “The 12 Angry Men”.

The name sounded fancy when I was copying the movies and thought it would be of some interest to watch the classic black and white movie. So tonight I thought I had to do justice to my prejudice.

So I started to pull off the VLC pull off button. Now this was another movie which I started off to watch at random (generally I watch movies after making my self comfortable with the star cast, director, wikipediang all stuff).

And I must confess here that it had been one of the finest movies that I watched which would share its place among the classics of my Hollywood favorites. With a Pretty impressive screenplay the movie sets the conversation, allegations, refutations among 12 Jury men to come into a conclusion of finding the convicted - Guilty or not guilty.

The voting starts from 11:1 :: Guilty:Not guilty and slowly makes the figure vice versa.

It requires a pretty tight screenplay to make a movie running into more than 100 minutes length and not take the camera out of a room. All the characters move inside the room , occasionally resenting, arguing at every point .

A gud movie to watch about…..

nachavuley - telugu movie review

“Amma Enduku kannave veedini ?”

“Nuvvu Nachaka ” comes the reply from tanish, the child actor who performed the role of Sonali bendre’s brother in the movie manmadhadu.

Ever wondered how time passed by after the movie. I still feel the movie is as gud as the one released this year. Credit goes to trivikram.

Sravan my frend told me about the movie “Nachavule”, in which the hero is Tanish. Just was wondering had it been so much time tat even this chap became a Hero.

I always had a good feeling for Ravi babu movies though some of them have been debacles, some of them put up a great work by him. Whether its Allari ,Soggadu or Anasuya - Ravi babu is the guy who makes different movies.

He gives utmost importance to script that even minute details are taken gud care of in his movies. Be it giving recognition to every artist (starting from the light boy) or showing up different way of picturising the same old clichéd scene.

The Movie is very good. It brings in the Tender touch of a Fresh love story which off late has been missing in many movies.

Ramoji rao is back with a bang to his legend of making cute lovestories like Nuvve kavali, Anandam and Nachavuley is definitely going to be joining the same genre.

Though it appears that Ravi wanted to have a Different Publicity for his movie with Cute Doggies, monkey’s.,etc may be that’s one reason why the movie started on a dull note. But the movie is gradually picking up as it is finding to resonate itself with the Urban student community who envisage and envy to have a Wonderful couple as depicted in the movie.

The lead pair is cut enough to make every one in the audience feel comfortable with. And mind you this movie is not only for Children or Adults it has elements that would definitely strike a chord with the Parent community as it deals with some sensitive subjects like responsibility sharing with Kids, being frenz which I guess every child wants to be associated with.

I haven’t even checked who the music director was, but for the past two days ever since I saw the movie I have been listening to only Nachavuley Songs. The songs are fresh upfront with the lyrics adding the right dose to make the moment relish upon.I liked the complete album.

The movie may have its own faults like dragging end, but you can forgive the last 20 minutes of the movie for the first 90 minutes of enjoyement that you have.

All faces on the screen are new and you don’t find any resemblance to any known characters.

Go and watch it amidst the hue and cry of King and Ghazini, you will not repent for spending your 50 bucks in vain.

A Mighty Heart – Movie Review

Yesterday night I managed to watch this movie “A mighty Heart” of Angelina jolie on HBO. I was planning to watch this movie since a long time. Even when it was released in Hyderabad my collegue Sambit told me the movie was good enough to be given a try.
But some how things didn’t fall into place until yesterday night. No friends to disturb on a Chilly night as no one dare to come out at 9 Pm to disturb me from watching the Prime time movie.

Coming to the movie the plot is simple. The Plot revolves around a Journalist Couple namely Danny pearl and Marriane who are in Pakistan, where Danny is kidnapped by a terrorist outfit . The movie revolves around the Trauma faced by Marriane to rescue her husband from the dreadful claws of the Terrorist outfit.

Now the movie is based on a True Incident where the characters have been etched based on the real life story of Danny Pearl. The movie also shows the interviews of US Secretary Mr.Colin Powell who talks to Pakistan President Musharaf regarding the the actions to be taken against the terrorist outfit.

For the first time I saw a movie in which Angelina did a de-glamorized role. The movie is extensively shot in Pakistan and India. Versatile actor Irfan khan plays the role of a Pakistani Cop who tries to chase the Outfit. I personally liked the lady Asra she looked very cute.

The movie moves at a very rapid pace that you never feel bored.
