nachavuley - telugu movie review

“Amma Enduku kannave veedini ?”

“Nuvvu Nachaka ” comes the reply from tanish, the child actor who performed the role of Sonali bendre’s brother in the movie manmadhadu.

Ever wondered how time passed by after the movie. I still feel the movie is as gud as the one released this year. Credit goes to trivikram.

Sravan my frend told me about the movie “Nachavule”, in which the hero is Tanish. Just was wondering had it been so much time tat even this chap became a Hero.

I always had a good feeling for Ravi babu movies though some of them have been debacles, some of them put up a great work by him. Whether its Allari ,Soggadu or Anasuya - Ravi babu is the guy who makes different movies.

He gives utmost importance to script that even minute details are taken gud care of in his movies. Be it giving recognition to every artist (starting from the light boy) or showing up different way of picturising the same old clichéd scene.

The Movie is very good. It brings in the Tender touch of a Fresh love story which off late has been missing in many movies.

Ramoji rao is back with a bang to his legend of making cute lovestories like Nuvve kavali, Anandam and Nachavuley is definitely going to be joining the same genre.

Though it appears that Ravi wanted to have a Different Publicity for his movie with Cute Doggies, monkey’s.,etc may be that’s one reason why the movie started on a dull note. But the movie is gradually picking up as it is finding to resonate itself with the Urban student community who envisage and envy to have a Wonderful couple as depicted in the movie.

The lead pair is cut enough to make every one in the audience feel comfortable with. And mind you this movie is not only for Children or Adults it has elements that would definitely strike a chord with the Parent community as it deals with some sensitive subjects like responsibility sharing with Kids, being frenz which I guess every child wants to be associated with.

I haven’t even checked who the music director was, but for the past two days ever since I saw the movie I have been listening to only Nachavuley Songs. The songs are fresh upfront with the lyrics adding the right dose to make the moment relish upon.I liked the complete album.

The movie may have its own faults like dragging end, but you can forgive the last 20 minutes of the movie for the first 90 minutes of enjoyement that you have.

All faces on the screen are new and you don’t find any resemblance to any known characters.

Go and watch it amidst the hue and cry of King and Ghazini, you will not repent for spending your 50 bucks in vain.

A Mighty Heart – Movie Review

Yesterday night I managed to watch this movie “A mighty Heart” of Angelina jolie on HBO. I was planning to watch this movie since a long time. Even when it was released in Hyderabad my collegue Sambit told me the movie was good enough to be given a try.
But some how things didn’t fall into place until yesterday night. No friends to disturb on a Chilly night as no one dare to come out at 9 Pm to disturb me from watching the Prime time movie.

Coming to the movie the plot is simple. The Plot revolves around a Journalist Couple namely Danny pearl and Marriane who are in Pakistan, where Danny is kidnapped by a terrorist outfit . The movie revolves around the Trauma faced by Marriane to rescue her husband from the dreadful claws of the Terrorist outfit.

Now the movie is based on a True Incident where the characters have been etched based on the real life story of Danny Pearl. The movie also shows the interviews of US Secretary Mr.Colin Powell who talks to Pakistan President Musharaf regarding the the actions to be taken against the terrorist outfit.

For the first time I saw a movie in which Angelina did a de-glamorized role. The movie is extensively shot in Pakistan and India. Versatile actor Irfan khan plays the role of a Pakistani Cop who tries to chase the Outfit. I personally liked the lady Asra she looked very cute.

The movie moves at a very rapid pace that you never feel bored.

Aavakayi Biryani….

Now that’s an interesting title to draw Biryani aficionados to a movie and in particular to hyderabadi’s. It was sufficient enough to draw regular movie buffs to theater’s and when it comes from Shekar Kammula’s Camp the excitement just gets to the next level.

Given the fact that Shekar is now well established in Tollywood, and his experience with experimenting new subjects you always expect a good movie from his camp office. Anish Kuruvulla the director of this movie, is the same guy who plays the role of friend of Anand in the movie Anand (who says…Asalu roopa Anand mundu Cheema..Anand Enugu..hahaha)

After a Hectic week I thought I need to take a break from my regular schedule and which movie else gives you the feel of watching a good movie than Amigo’s Production. So I created the similar excitement in a couple of friends and managed to bring them to the theatre for the movie with a pomis ethat after the movie we shall have biryaani JJ.

Though I already read Jeevi’s review on the movie, I wanted to give my take on the movie. When people deliver a success others start expecting little more than that and you need to fight to stand up to their expectations. I guess now that’s the thought of Jeevi

Aavakayi biryaani is all about a middle class girl who makes her living by selling home made pickle (Maa oori Aavakayi),who dreams about making big in life by opening a restaurant on the high way. She meets up with Akbar an Autodriver struggling to clear his BCOM to get a well settled job.

The movie touchs issues like hindu-muslim sentiment, education in a village, exploitation of villagers by a few influential people.

The movie brings in a fresh feel away from noisy roads of city in the backdrop of devarakonda – vikarabad stretch.

I think Anish did a wonderful job to recreate the magic of a pakka village background movie with the tenderness of Innocence. Kudos Anish!!!! I haven’t seen his debutant movie “Confessions of a film director”(iam not sure if that’s the exact name…shall give it a try).

As far as the acting is concerned…Kamal has done a neat job with very good histrionics and Bindu as a perfect Padaharanala Telugu Aadapaduchu was Dazzling in langa voni’s and Sarees.

I consider the movie is a paisa wasool and a movie to be seen whole heartedly to enjoy the fragrance of fresh feel.

Hope there every menu in Hyderabad will have a special dish called Aavakayi Biryani…..

Kotha Bangaru Lokam…Waiting for me!!!

“Happy Dussera”, now that’s what has been beeping on my mobile since today morning.

But just mere SMSing does it make my festival Happy. May be Yes bcoz atleast they have thought about me on this day or may be not as it was an exercise that they did.

Day long I was hoping to catch up with regular activity of catching up with friends and having our normal gupship but little did I realize that it can be way different from what I expected.

So what should I do?? Lackadaisically I turned onto net and fumbled up on idlebrain to see Jeevi’s review for the movie “Kotha Bangaru Lokam” (I was expecting the movie to be good because of the Music and the look & feel of the Posters and ad campaign made me feel like that…or may be its called Sixth Sense). Jeevi gave a mind boggling review of the movie and a rating of 4 up on scale of 5 (mind you he gave 4.5 for Bommarillu so can expect his rating value).

The time was 7.30 Pm and there is only one chance of making it to the movie and that’s Second Show. I checked with my friends and none of their Calendar’s was free.

As I was idling time just thought how about hitting to the movie with Mom.

Vroooooooooooooooom…that’s it went to the theatre to get the tickets but unfortunately the Queue was long enough so that I had the time to go back home and come along with Mom to get the tickets since the ladies Queue was decent enough .

Finally we got the Tickets.(also mom helped 2 more guys by purchasing some tickets for them as well).

Now my decision to take mom for this Movie proved to be a great idea as by the Interval the movie was so pleasant that mom was totally immersed into the movie.

Now coming to the movie though I plan to write a separate blog about it, a crisp review goes here…..A Fresh, Romantic, enticing, College Love Story. If Happy Days made you feel nostalgic about your Engineering Days this movie is definitely going to make you reminiscent of your Intermediate Days.

Fabulously picturised in the most picturesque locations of godavari, with music as an asset, the movie tries to balance the thin line between what parents think about children in the age group of 15-19 and what the Children feel like doing .

The lead roles of Varun and Swetha are very good.(Though I preferred to watch Swetha than Varun on the Screen….oops). Swetha is a debutant actress and she is most famous for her role of the dumb hero’s sister in the movie Iqbal. While equal importance has been given to Jayasudha & Prakashraj(Hero’s Mom and Dad) and Ahuti Prasad (Heroine’s Dad)

To put it in One line it’s a story about a middle class guy falling in love with a Rich girl during their Intermediate and how do they face the Consequences.

And by the time the move was over audience would be left with a heavy heart, feelings pouring out just like as it is with me now.(imagine I am composing this blog at midnight 1.00AM    &@$(*&@$)

All in all my dussera concluded happily with mom as I was able to spend some time with mom and that too in the company of a Very Good Movie.

If I were to recommend, do watch the movie with your Loved ones , not the regular friend’s circle. You will feel better and would start to add value to your relationship.

Addukogaladhaaa vegam “Kotha Bangaaru Lokam pilsitey”……

A Wednesday like Saturday…..

Today we had been to the movie called “A Wednesday” a film directed by Debutant Director Neeraj Pandey.

A very good movie showcasing what a Stupid Common Man/Aam Admi can do if he wishes to kill Terrorism . A Honest effort by the director to show the trauma being faced my aam aadmi in today’s world of terrorist attacks.

All I can say is the movie is an Intellectual movie. It requires Brains to understand and appreciate the efforts put in by the movie crew.

But that was not all about today. Being a Saturday our usual gang of friends went out for dinner. And suddenly I get a call from Mom @ Home cautioning me to return home as there have been serial blasts all across the national Capital viz., delhi.

As I heard the news a chill went down my nerve and I just had a 360 degree check around myself to realize that I was not at the spot. It took me hardly 30-45 seconds to get back to the normal position. And I was trying to get back to normal, I saw people around me Cracking Jokes with their loved ones, sharing snacks, smoking high in the air., there was little amount of fear in their eyes. May be they were yet to get the call just like the one I had from home.

As I came back home and started to blog this post, I feel my Saturday was similar to the plot of A Wednesday…….

Trying to grope the situation I was back to normal Congratulating my friend Sushmi on her next US Onsite trip, Wishing Birthday wishes to Amrita my colleague.
After all Life needs to keep on moving...Such instances only make us Stronger day by day...

Mahesh Mania @ aShTa - ChEmMa

I don’t know why but after a long time today I feel like to blog every dump….

So here it goes my another review…..

Last week’s another release was critically acclaimed Award winning director Indraganti Mohan Krishna’s (MK) “Ashta-Chemma”.

Though this movie is MK’s 3rd Telugu movie I would like to term it as his perfect commercial movie. His first film Grahanam was about Social Elements. (Now all award winning movies will have similar kind of story lines or else they wud not be chosen for awards….hahaha).

His Second Movie was “Mayabazar” though the title is borrowed from famous telugu classic movie starring NTR, ANR, Savitri this movie with bhumika, raja and SPB has little resemblance to the old classic. This is a Socio fantasy movie set in 2000.I watched this movie at home in Gemini TV.

Though the earlier two movies reflect the Director’s Classic taste this movie Ashta-Chemma puts him in limelight.

To put it frankly I was expecting a Good movie right from the day the shooting was announced from MK’s kitty. And this movie lives up to my xpectations.

The movie heavily banks upon Mahesh mania…yes the plot is based on how girls are crazy about Prince Mahesh Babu.(Guys at least u can have gud time at the theatre as Mahesh’s female fan’s also look cute just like Mahesh…JJ)

The best part of the movie is Anand…yes the character played by Srini the new comedy face of tollywood. This guy has amazing timing and the comedy that he delivers is perfect. Especially the scene where Mahesh a-k-a Ram Babu explains his village backdrop which forms a Hilarious episode.

Coming to Swathi (or rather popular as Colors swathi), she does a good job like the girl who keeps on dreaming about Mahesh Babu.Though her character in the movie looks like an extended one of her character in the movie Venky’s Aaduvari matalaku ardhalu veru

The taking and screenplay grips your attention. Music stands out with some foot-tapping numbers.

Except for the last 15 minutes of the movie you never feel bored in the movie. The movie is on the lines of Anand, Happydays …I mean to the taste of Multiplexer and family audience. That’s the Trade secret why Shekhar Kammula has bought the Overseas Distribution rights of this movie.

The movie shall be a definitely Paisa vasool movie.

homam -- THE DEPARTED

Last week’s new release Homam a telugu movie by JD Chekravarthy (the obedient disciple of RGV) is a blatantly copied version of Martin Scorsese’s Oscar Nominee “The Departed” staring Matt Damon and Dicarpio.

Right from the beginning the movie was guzzling with Violence and no doubt the movie is given an A certificate by the censor board. After Pokiri almost all the Telugu movies started to show violence in a different tone.

Set against a police-Mafia Backdrop where in the Police introduce their under cover cop into mafia and vice versa, the movie takes through the journey of interconnection between 2 departments.

All said and done, Homam is a well directed movie. JD needs to be specially mentioned because before going to the movie I heard the Protagonist of the movie telling that the movie is for “Intellectual People” and that perfectly describes the essence of the movie.

The Movie moves at a very fast pace never leaving u regret for the amount u spent on ur ticket.(Except for the songs , Though the songs have been composed and picturised differently their timing in the movie only interrupts the flow of the movie.)

Jagapathi Babu also proved his mettle as an Actor with yet another good performance. Especially the scene where in the cop explains to his mom in hospital that he is an Undercover cop(though I heard people comparing this scene with Kamal Hassan;’s performance in Vasanta kokila…I didn’t feel it can be matched up by any other performance).

The Heroines in the movie are there only for Masala Entertainment to the Masses. The Screenplay and Editing is good. The Climax part is very well carved up on.

A good film to watch especially if you haven’t watched the departed, do watch it after the original version and u shall understand the creativity of the director.

All in the entire movie introduces freshness into Telugu film industry with lot more experimentations budding up. The Icing on the cake is…there is a Sequel being planned for this movie with - bringing Dawood ibrahim to India from Pakistan as the backdrop. The sequel is being planned as MARANA HOMAM.

Now this is why I say MUMMy’s should not be taken to China…

The Hue and cry being raised about the new release of the week, ”Mummy 3 – the Emperor rises back” is something which I feel isn’t worthy enough for the movie itself.

Given the fact that iam a Die hard fan of Mummy 1 & 2,which unearthed the Curiosity to know more about Egypt/Pharohs/ Gold Hunts, that I went to the extent of Wikipediaing the subject. And would definitely like to give it a watch again on HBO or Start Movies.

All set and done I along with my collegues planned to watch out the new version in the series and even went to the extent of Bunking Office (from Friday afternoon as we were quite sure that from Friday First show we may not make up the tickets). Although we missed the first 5 minutes of movie which I guess more of context setting in china about the emperor and his army the sight of Brenden Fraser brought in the happiness and my adrenaline started to pump up with a curiosity about the adventure to be set up.

But unlike the earlier versions the First Disappointment came, in the form of new new heroine (for Mr. Fraser).Little did I realize that the movie was being diverted from the main track as the characters in the movie to started to slowly move from west to east viz.,china (instead of Egypt or any other African place).

When we realized that Alex the Cute son in Mummy 2 has grown up and is going to fight now against mummy, I feared that this is similar on the lines of Indian jones 4 the latest in the closet. Bollywood/Indian Films are truly inspiring Hollywood. Where in the family fight is being passed on generations to rescue Good averting the Baddies.

Hopefully coming summer Spider Man and Bat man don’t urn up the trend of Indian Jones and Mummy.

And thirdly why in the bloody hell would any body want to bring the concept of Mummy to China where in every kid in the block is fanatic about Marshall arts. I totally went aghast when I saw that Mummy was performing Marshall Arts.

I don’t say that the movie is completely bad but only venting out my disappointment over my Expectations on Mummy. There are a Couple of Gud scenes and the Audio recording was were very gud, infact my collegue who sat beside me started to jerk as she saw the emperor raising back.

Happy Days Rocks!!!!

I have been a Movie Aficionado since my College Days. Hardly there was a Movie that we missed in our Graduation Days often making sure we make our Attendance Compulsory at the Cinema House rather than our Engg Classes.

Off late I was more inclined to catch up with the New English Flicks hanging around in Hyderabad making sure I do Justice to all the Three Genres of Movies that are mostly played in Hyderabad viz., Hindi, English and Telugu.

Recently there was a telugu Flick by the Name Happy Days which is a Story about Engg College Friends and the Camaraderie Atmosphere with Seniors ragging juniors .,etc. a typical College Film.

The Winsomeness of the Movie lies in the way the Director moulds the Characters of the Lead Pairs that you are Enthralled all about. The Film brings in the Reminiscences in Every ones Engg life where in it reflects the Fear that you Possess when you Enter into your College Campus on Day 1, the Impositions that we make for our Seniors, paying our Due Respect to the Seniors by offering them our Seats in the College Bus…..list unending.

My Most favourite Link in the Movie is where the Senior helps the junior during their Campus Placements and the Dialog where in a Senior Advices his junior “Don’t Bother about your Communication Skills .The Day I Entered the College even I was like you, Lacking Good Communication Skills…..E.N.G.L.I.S.H….But College is something that makes you learn it by the Day you move out of the College”.

As said by the Principal of the College in the movie on their Farewell “This is the End of the MOST HAPPY DAYS of your Life…..But this is also the Beginning of THE MOST PURPOSEFUL Days of your Life”

2 Years ago we were the Characters in the Movie and today We See our own Stories on Screen and Smile at them……

Definitely HAPPY DAYS ROCKS….mama life motham Jil Jil Jiga!!!!
